It’s thanksgiving
and the time of the year when friends and family gather together to dine,
laugh, spend time and have fun together. We love thanksgiving and yes its is a
great and beautiful time of the year. The big question is: What are we truly
thankful for? I know we have been through a lot this year and
may not even have something tangible to be thankful for. Some have lost loved
ones, jobs, dealt with sickness and diseases but the good news is that we are
still alive! God kept us in spite of all we’ve been through. His grace and
faithfulness has kept is.
What would we have been without His grace and
mercies? Have you ever wondered if God never cared and His grace and mercies
were absent from us?
The song writer looked back and pondered on the
faithfulness and the grace of God, penned down these words so pertinently.
Great is Thy faithfulness,” O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou
changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be
Summer
and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love
Pardon
for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Great
is Thy faithfulness!” “Great is Thy faithfulness!”
Morning
by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
“Great is Thy faithfulness,” Lord, unto me!
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
“Great is Thy faithfulness,” Lord, unto me!
This thanksgiving, am grateful
for God's grace and plenteous mercies. I am grateful for my wonderful family and friends. Another
thing am grateful to God for is the mountains, and the valleys He brought me
through because it made me know Him better and depended on Him more. He rescued me.
What are you thankful for? You
are still alive and this is enough reason to be thankful.
Happy thanksgiving all.
Chichi Onoriobe.
