Have you ever been in a situation where you prayed, fasted, declared and did all you knew to do in faith and things remained the same?
Have you prayed and held unto God morning, noon and night until you did not have any more words and it seemed like the Heavens were silent with no gleam light at the end of the tunnel? Yes, I have been there but inspite of it all, He remains a good good father!
Recently I lost a dear friend and sister; she was my very true friend, it hit me so hard and I was pained. I pondered about this and asked the same questions above: what should my attitude be when victory seems lost and hopes have been dashed? What do you do when the answers to your prayers don't seem to be as you desire? I know God is a very good God but when things don't go the way we want them to, what do we do and how do we respond? I know many of us have been there and even questioned the goodness of God. In all we go through, know that our God is a good God who never forsakes His own. He loves you and is working everything for your good. He has your best interest at heart.
While pondering on these questions, I was reminded of Habbakuk 3:17, 18: "Though the fig tree should not blossom and there be no fruits on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail and the field produce no food, Though the flock should be cut off from the fold and there be no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation".
God sees the end from the beginning and knows best. He is the all knowing and all powerful God; so trust in His judgment and allow Him to lead you from that turbulent water to the still waters.
In the stormy night of our lives, our response should be as Job said in Job 13:15- "though you slay me, yet will I trust in Him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him". Look unto Jesus always.
When it looks like nothing is changing and you are at a stand still, maintain your faith, keep believing and trust Him. Our love for God should never diminish in any way because we did not get our prayers answered the way we want Him to. Never lose your faith nor allow your circumstances dictate your dedication to God in the midst of it all. Look up to God for your help cometh from Him alone and He bring you out.
A song writer penned:
As I lay me down, Heaven hear me now,
Am lost without a cause, After giving it my all
Winter storms have come, And darkened my sun
After all that I've been through, who on earth can I turn to
I look to you, I look to you
After all my strength is gone,
In you I can be strong, I look to you.
After losing my breath, There's no more fighting left,
sinking to rise no more
searching for that open door
And every road that I've taken, led to my regret
And I don't know if I'm gonna make it
Nothing to do but lift my head
I look to you
I look to you!
Submit to God's leadership and direction for He is sovereign. Always know that nothing takes God by surprise at all. He sees the end from the beginning and is working it all out for your good. The Lord promised us that He will do exceedingly, abundantly far above all you can ever ask or imagine and you are coming out victorious. Inspite of all, He is still God and He is also a good good father!
Just trust God!

Thanks for sharing ,this just lifted my soul.May God continue to increased you
ReplyDeleteHe is still and will forever be God. He is the master planner with plans of good and not evil so He knows exactly what is good for us and his timing is also perfect. His word says "seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." But, we fervently pray for the latter and usually disregard the former. May we consciously live to delight God after all He created us for His pleasure. Blessings!!
ReplyDelete🙏🙏 Amen. He’s a good father and definitely know what’s best for us. Thanks sis.

ReplyDeleteIt is true my sister, that God's goodness can't be questioned. Ours is blind trust, that no matter what we face He will be there to see us through. It is in the difficult times that we learn to trust Him more. Heb 5:8 says " thou he were a son, yet learnt he obedience by the things He suffered"
Like the song writer said, thru it all I've learnt to trust in Jesus , I've learnt to trust in God, thru it all I've learnt to depend upon His word"
One last thought, in the darkest hour, lets praise him as praises bring Him on the scene .
Remember He inhabits the praises of His people. Psalms 22:3
Thanks that was an awesome message difficult to comprehend but it is true.
Great points pastor! Thank you for the additional insight...very true. Praise definitely works!
DeleteRemember that the darkest hour of the night is just before the dawn. Cling to hope in the Lord.
ReplyDeleteYou are so true. May God give us the grace to wait and also hold on to Him always.
DeleteYet I will trust Him.
ReplyDeleteThanks dear.
