My girls and I closely monitored a mother bird that built her nest by the side of our house. I was so fascinated witnessing the bird work tirelessly every day and night building her nest, flying back and forth gathering sticks and getting ready for the birth of her little chicks. She made so many trips in a span of a week building that little nest. A couple of days later, the trips stopped. It became incubation time. The parent bird sat on the eggs for the majority of the time until they hatched.
Days later, we were interrupted by loud chirping sounds of little chicks. The little chicks were here; then the trips resumed again. We watched as the mother bird flew back and forth several times during the day bringing food to feed her little chicks. Then fledging occurred. The little chicks grew and left the nest following their mother learning to fly and fend for themselves. One thing that caught my attention was the protection the mother bird gave her little chicks. I watched her chase away a squirrel trying to eat something close to where her chicks were. She chased down the squirrel and anything that came close to her little chicks, she would go after. She was very protective and took care of them well.
There were many lessons I took away and served as a reminder watching the bird and her chicks for weeks.
Like the mother bird prepared for her chicks to be born, our God did much more for us. The scripture in Jeremiah 1: 5 tells us "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” God knows us by name before we were conceived! He prepared for you and I. He has a plan for our lives and has sanctified us for that work. We have been called to live a life of purpose and that we must find out from God our Father and accomplish same as we journey through life. No one was born a mistake. We have been ordained by God to fulfill our purpose in life. It is our duty to find this purpose out and fulfill it as God enables us.
God is our provider and we must depend on Him for everything. No matter what the situation is, whether good or bad, remember that God is your provider.
The scripture also records in Deuteronomy 8: 18 “But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.” Thank Him always for His provision in your life and family for He is our provider.
The mother bird did not take permission from me to build her nest in my property and neither did the baby chick lack food because their mother provided. Mathew 6:26 tells us: "The birds of the air neither sow nor reap but our Heavenly father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?"

Our trust in God must be complete and unwavering. He wants us to depend on Him to provide for us. He is the good shepherd and cares so much for His sheep. Just trust Him, He is our provider and those who put their trust in God will NEVER be disappointed.
He is our ever present help and our protector. As I watched the mother bird like a hawk watching and protecting her chicks, I was reminded of the overwhelming love of God that protects us from every assault of the enemy. Scripture tells us severally He watches over us and protects us. Many live in fear today of many things but the truth is this: God loves us so much and will not allow anything harm us. The devil is a roaring lion looking for whom to devour but as children of God, He covers us always in His mighty hands.
He is our refuge and our very present help in times of trouble.
Psalm 121:3-8 tells us “He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever". He will preserve you from all evil....Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
As long as the little chicks were in the shadow of their mother, they remained safe. This is true for us today, as long as we stay close to our father, depend on God and trust Him in all we do, He is committed to taking care of us. When we feel we are all grown and don't need Him anymore, derail from His presence and can take care of ourselves living outside of our father’s care, we are at risk of anything the devil may throw at us. God’s presence in our lives is our assurance for safety. His name is a strong tower and the righteous runs into and is safe. Safety is of the Lord.
Never lose hope no matter the situation you find yourself or how hard the storm of life rages, God cares and will always take care of you and your needs in our journey through life. We are all ordained for great works and have a mandate to fulfill it, find out what it is and pursue after it. Our father loves us greatly.
Shalom.
Thanks. An encouraging words.
