The Communion: We have a secured Victory

Pastor Osayawe Ogbebor
“Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil” Heb 2:14 (NKJV)

Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, the devil had been destroyed!! Really, he has been destroyed as far as you and I (born again believers, regenerated spirits). The scripture we just read said “the death of Jesus destroyed he that had the power of death, that is the devil”! Amen!! What a victory!! But we as Christians don’t hold on to this truth often Jesus had to remind us again about it!

The devil has no authority over you if you a child of God. He can only influence you when you give him the right to. Jesus in other to prove this to us had to “Partake of Flesh and Blood”. He went through the same process you and I would follow to come into this world and then went to the cross, shed his Blood for our victory! I actually shout when ever I remind myself of this truth.

At the Communion Table, Jesus took the Cup and said:

“24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.” 1 Corinthians 11:24-26 (KJV)

Lets just look from verse 25. Jesus said to drink the cup (or take communion) as often as you can! That means you can take it anytime and take it always. But the interesting thing is what he said following in the next verse.

When you do this often, you show the Lord’s death till he comes. In other words you remind yourself of the death of Jesus. Every time you take communion and you eat the bread (the flesh) and drink this cup (Blood) of Jesus, you remind yourself that the devil has been destroyed. Totally destroyed. This tells me that death of Jesus brings about the destruction of the devil.

So the next time you take communion and you hold the Cup with the Blood, declare that the devil has been destroyed. I mean destroyed. Everything that comes with the devil has been destroyed. Sickness and disease have been destroyed. Poverty and lack have been destroyed.

The blood of Jesus is against everything that is against you! Hallejah!

Why? Because Jesus died and rose again.

The enemy’s authority has been brought to zero as far as you and I are concerned!
