PRAISE WORKS

Praise In Spite of The Storm.

Everyone can agree the year 2020 has been an eventful one. Many have lost dear ones, friends and colleagues like I have. Many have also lost jobs due to the pandemic and all. We take stock of the year and many don't seem to see what they have achieved or much to boast of. Some have even looked at their goal list for the year and nothing seems to check out completely.

The scriptures in Psalms 150:6 reminds us "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord." Yes, we might be pressed on every side, crushed and in despair but as long as we have breath in us, we are commanded to praise God in the midst of the storm. As long as we wake up to another day, we are blessed and have much to be thankful or praiseful for in the midst of it all.

The people of Israel were in trouble as many nations rose up to fight against them. The book of 2 Chronicles 20 records the story and tells us about the wonders of praise. Instead of using their bows and arrows, Jehoshaphat ordered singers to go before the army with songs of praise to God. Israel did not need to shoot an arrow but the Lord himself set ambush and the enemies helped to destroy each other. God practically took over the battle for them. The battle was cheaply won at the instance of praise.

Another beautiful story of the wonders of Praise is recorded in Acts 16. Paul and Silas were locked up in jail and were bound with chains on their feet. According to Acts 16: 25 & 26, "And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang PRAISES unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were open, and every one's band were loosed".

Seemingly, there was no way of escape for  Paul and Silas. It seemed foolish for Paul and Silas to lift their heads up and praise God in that jail house. They were already condemned and were likely to be killed the next day. They praised God in spite of the trouble they were in. Praise broke the chains and prison doors. Praise invoked divine help from God and their victory came at the INSTANCE OF PRAISE! God never overlooks a praiseful heart.

Are you in the midst of the storm, faced with any fierce battle and you don't know your way out? ACTIVATE PRAISE!

It may seem foolish to dance and praise God in the midst of the storm but PRAISE is an effective weapon of war.  God inhabits the praises of His people, He comes down and fights for us; when we praise Him, no battle nor the devil dares to stand.

When the battle is fiercest, your breakthrough is eminent. Praise God in spite of any situation you find yourself in and God will cause you to ride upon your high places. You will come out victorious.

Never underestimate the power of praise and thanksgiving. It is our weapon of warfare and a sickle for harvest, so use it! Develop a praise lifestyle.

Keep praising and watch God turn every challenge around in your favor.
