Blessed & Thankful

A thankful heart is one not completely void of troubles that life brings. A thankful heart in spite of all the circumstances around (good or bad), counts it all blessings. A thankful heart praises God in everything.

Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, [though] the product of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the [victorious] God of my salvation! Habakkuk 3:17.

We may not have all we need.  We may not be joyful twenty-four hours in a day neither may we have gotten all that we have prayed for but in all, we are still blessed and should be thankful. It could have been worse that what it is but for God’s mercies! His mercies endures forever as scripture tell us.

Life may not have been completely easy as we are faced with trouble on every side but as the song writer penned down, “through it all, I’ve learnt to trust in Jesus and depend upon His word!” We all have a reason to lift our hands in thanks and total praise to God. Being blessed with the gift of life is enough for us to throw our hands up in praise to our Maker.

Yes, I understand it's not easy to be thankful especially when we are in the midst of the storm and the raging fire. However, this is the most important thing to do for us to see God’s speedy manifestation of victory accomplished in and through us. God is looking for people who live in the realm of praise and thanksgiving.  A realm where the enemy has no manipulation or hold over that person. This is a higher realm of faith. Oh, what sweet smelling savor it is to our God! It brings God great pleasure.

There’s great power in praise and thanksgiving. It is our sickle for harvesting all that we have tabled to God and even those requests and needs we are ignorant of. Thanksgiving has the power to break the power of the enemy and brings great joy in spite of all you are going through. It opens up the windows of Heaven and releases God’s blessings. Don’t dwell on the negatives and what you are going through instead, release thanks and praise to God for things you do not see and believe for. It’s the act of faith that brings you victory over the battles of life.

What are you thankful for?

As for me, I am grateful for the gift of being called God’s own. I’m awed by the privilege to be called His own and having access to His throne room. I can call Him my Father and friend! The boldness to come to His throne room and obtain mercy and find grace for help in time of need and have access to this every hour of my day is what I am grateful for. I am thankful for all the blessing God has showered on me and also the mountains He has brought me through. I am also grateful for the gift of my family and friends like you!

In all you do, have a grateful heart.
